Illustraion about Nina

Since I've finished "Mathematics for kids", I'm working on my children illustrator portfolio.

I found an amazing Ukrainian children poet, who lived in the middle of  XX.

His poems are funny and edifying.

Here is one about one disorderly girl named Nina.

She wanted to sew something, but lost her needle.

But when she found her needle, she sow that now she lost her thread.

I think this poem is about me :-)

I draw two version of illustration. And don't know what is better.

Goodbye summer

Yesterday there was snowing here in Kyiv. Winter is coming :)
So I'm showing my last drawings from our Black Sea trip.
I have some photos too, but I didn't scan them yet.

Pears

Yesterday in studio I planed to draw some objects with indian ink, but someone bring pears. So I desided to draw them in my favorite mixed watercolor-ink technic.

May be they are too bright and strange, but I like them :-)

The Lake

Last weekend we went to the countryside to my mother's in law countryhouse.
There was a lake. And when Martha was swimming with her Dad, I could draw.

This summer is very special for me. I had a first honorarium for illustrations. And I start a new book with many-many illustrations.
And I draw a lot for myself. More then ever.
And my family makes me happy 24/7.
So, I am calm and happy and I know that everything in my life is right.
And I wish the same to all of you :)

Three days in the house with clock-tower

We had an amazing three days with our friends in a country house.
The house was adorable!
There was grass in front of the house with a tree in the middle (to make all day shadow). And forest. And the river! Martha was very happy mostly about a river :-)

There were many-many beautiful things in and around the house. I paint some of them but if I had more time I could paint dozens still-lifes :-)

I made this painting when I start my experiments in art. About eight years ago.
She is strange, but I like her :-)

another Sketch crawl

This weekend we had another sketch crawl.
We found amazing street in the old part of Kyiv.
I choose an old paper founded at my Grandparents to sketch that old houses.
To recreate the atmosphere.

Last Saturday we had a sketch crawl with my friends.
I hope it will become a tradition :-)

Perfect cup

One day Olex bring me the perfect handmade cup from Germany.
And yesterday I broke it :-(
Sad sad sad.

I'm experimenting with watercolors and ink.
Trying to find my own way in illustration.
That objects I found in the "locker for objects" in our studio :-)
Except the brush, which is my own, and the clock, which is Olex's timer he uses when he develops his films.

Back home

We went to visit my Grandparents, who live near the Black Sea.
I live there when I was child and now I'm coming back every spring.

We didn't take any digital camera with us.
Only Bronica and sketching tools.
And I made some Instagram photos with my smartphone. (I'm mahasitha there)
It was amazing three weeks I spend with Martha and Olex together.

Martha's pictures

Martha likes to draw. If I need some time for myself I can give her painting stuff and she will be busy for an hour or some times even more :-) I just need to give her new paper every 15 minutes :-)

Her best for now is this crow. Someone draw the Sun and Martha paint that crow near it.

Snowfall in late march

In the end of March there was an abnormal snowfall in Kyiv, Ukraine. The city was absolutely paralyzed  for several days.
That days everyone remembered "The day after tomorrow" movie :-) Cars and first flours of buildings was covered by snow. Roads, yards... everything under snow.
In the center of the city was no cars, but a lot of snow, so the most popular "transport" was ski or snowboard :-)
I made some charcoal sketches of our "snow Apocalypse".

This year I drown many Christmas cards for our friends.
This two are the most funny :-)

end of Fall

Fall is ending.
It's a little bit sad, but in the same time it means that Winter is coming.
With snow, ice, frost, and Christmas!

I draw this Fall picture in our art studio last week.
We have many pumpkins there of different shapes and colors.
Very interesting to draw.
